Looks like another company jumping in on the CVSA. Click below to see this one. It lauds this as far less training than polygraph. http://www.ksdk.com/news/world/us_world_article.aspx?storyid=141619 IP: Logged |

Somebody should point out that Federal labor laws require any pre-employment tests to be valid (construct, criterion, etc), and CVSA, LVSA, CRAP, whatever, doesn't cut it in any type of validity study.IP: Logged |

This is not new. The parent company is Nemesysco: http://www.nemesysco.com and it has gone under several different names (Truster, Truster Pro...). It was patented in the early 90s. To my knowledge, all research has shown it to be not better than chance. There are a number of research articles out there on it. IP: Logged |

Barry, It may be a violation of Federal Labor Laws, but that isn't stopping police departments from using it. I've advised the local (Fayetteville, NC) PD that they could face some federal labor law violations by using it for hiring, and specifically for denying employment based upon the CVSA results. Several years ago I provided them with a number of studies regarding the poor historic performce of the CVSA, but they still use it for more than mere utility. They actually make decisions based on the aparatus. On a more positive side, they recently had an officer graduate from Slupski's school, so maybe they are getting on board. IP: Logged | |
